STUDENT INFO

is always done for one academic year at a time (August-May) and is binding, unless it is canceled in accordance with the education rules. Registration is valid for the entire academic year 2024-2025.

You can register for dance lessons in the middle of the academic year, for example: for the fall semester 2024 or for the spring semester. The spring semester begins on January 7, 2025.

If the dance season has already started, you can take part in the class from the day you have registered. We will send you dance information to the email address you provided.

If you are attending a single class, do not fill out the registration form.

Individual lessons are paid in advance to Kajaani Dance’s account: FI5557600320156184 (BIC: OKOYFIHH) or in cash directly to the teacher. Show the payment receipt to the teacher from your mobile device and write your name and phone number on the slip given to the teacher in advance. If the class is suitable and you want to continue with the class, fill out the binding registration after the individual class.

Please note that the teacher cannot take students to the class with a single lesson fee if the number of students allowed in the hall is exceeded.

Prices for individual lessons:

45 min – 60 min 10 e.

75 min                12 e

90 min                15 e

Sign up for a class of the appropriate age group and level. If you need help, contact the office

dance@kajaanidance.fi

or tel. 044-5874765. Starting with school-aged and young people, the age and level groups are indicative.

A new student can try a dance class immediately after registration. You will also receive the registration fee (20e) in your email. This is because the dance school’s insurance applies only to those participants in dance classes who have officially registered for the classes.

If, based on the trial class, it seems that the group is not the right one, you should talk to the teacher, who will be happy to help you choose the group and direct you to enroll in the right group. If, based on the trial lesson, you come to the conclusion that dancing is not your thing, you can cancel your registration in accordance with the education rules. Missing a class is not a notice of cancellation, but all cancellations must be made in writing to the dance school’s office.

Registration entitles you to two introductory dance lessons within 10 days of starting. After that, the entire tuition fee will be invoiced. The dance invoice will be sent to your email or by letter in the fall semester at the beginning of September and in the spring semester at the beginning of February.

We will send you dance information to the email address you provided.

Check the time and location of your class on the dance school’s website. Check the Lessons Etiquette page for lesson instructions and the sports page for clothing and equipment recommendations. You can ask the teacher for further instructions on the equipment in the first lesson.

The student is entitled to make up for his absence for two months with dance school classes corresponding to his skill level during the same semester.

ATTENTION! For a substitute class, the result must always be inquired/announced in advance to the study secretary or the teacher of the group at least a day before. The study secretary and the teacher know how to recommend compensation lessons that suit you.

A known future absence can also be compensated in advance.

All students are insured against accidents that occur during the dance school’s activities (classes and related performances).

In order to avoid accidents, the teacher can deny a student who is late from entering the class.

The teacher’s responsibility for the students is limited to class time. The student gets accident protection for time outside of dance class by taking out personal leisure insurance.

The groups are realized if 8 or more students register for the lesson. If the group is not implemented, the student will be notified immediately and an alternative class will be offered.

The principles of a safer space mean common practices that all parties participating in the dance lessons agree to follow. All discrimination is prohibited at Kajaani Dance’s dance school. Please consider your fellow human beings with respect in your behavior and speech. You are in contact with the principal or the dance teacher immediately at a low threshold if you experience inappropriate treatment or harassment.
