Training rules 2024-2025

All classes must be registered in advance.

1.1 New and continuing dance students register for Kajaani Dance’s dance classes via the Kajaanidance.eepos.fi registration link. Registration applies to the entire academic year 2024-2025 (autumn and spring semester). Students are accepted in order of registration. When registering, the student/student’s guardian is committed to pay the fees for both the fall and spring semesters.

1.2 The student can participate in classes when the registration has been properly completed. Tuition fees for those who quit mid-semester will not be refunded.

New students are charged a registration fee of 20 euros, which is sent to the student by email after registration. Former students of the dance school do not pay a fee.

The student (new and continuing) is entitled to try a dance class twice with the registration fee, and the trial is valid for 10 days from the first dance class. After these trials, the school year is considered to have started for the student, and the entire tuition fee will be paid.

3.1 If a registered NEW or CONTINUING student does not want to continue with the class after two trial lessons, the registration must be canceled in writing within 10 days of the student’s first dance lesson to the address tanssin.peruutus@gmail.com. The actual tuition fee is not charged for registration canceled in this way. If the cancellation is not made in time, the student place is considered accepted. The registration fee is non-refundable.

NOTE! Teachers do not accept notices of termination.

3.2 Autumn semester 12 August – 13 December 2024

If the student has reserved a student place for the next academic year in the spring/summer, but wants to cancel the reserved student place, the dance school must be notified in writing by emailing opintosihteeri@kajaanidance.fi or by letter no later than August 11, also when the student makes lesson changes to the subjects he/she has chosen.

3.3 Spring semester 7 January – 16 May 2025

If the student does not participate in the spring semester’s dance classes or makes changes to the dance classes he has chosen for the spring semester, please notify him in writing by December 7, 2024 to tanssin.peruutus@gmail.com.

3.4 If an appropriate notice of termination has not been made by the deadline, and the student does not attend classes in the fall or spring term, the student will be charged a fee of 50 euros for an unused student place.

3.5 Teachers do not accept notices of termination

4.1 The tuition fee invoice is sent to the payer’s specified e-mail or letter (+2 e) in the fall term in September and in the spring term in February. The invoices are due in 14 days.

4.2 New students of Kajaani Dance dance school are charged a registration fee of 20 euros in addition to the tuition fee, i.e. the 20 euros fee paid after registration is not refunded. The fee covers the administrative costs of registration.

4.3 The family discount on the tuition fee is 15 e/student when there are two or more students from the same household.

4.4 To agree payment arrangements, the student/guardian should contact the office via email at kajaanidance@gmail.com. Delayed payments are charged with late payment interest and payment reminder compensation as permitted by law.

4.5 The tuition fee must be paid, even if you quit mid-term. We will refund the money only against a medical certificate.

4.6 Sickness absences of more than 14 days entitle the student fee to be refunded when the medical certificate regarding the illness has been delivered to the college office within a reasonable time. The illness certificate must state that the illness prevents exercise.

4.7 We grant some free student places every year on financial grounds. Applications for free student places are sent to the principal of the dance school kajaanidance@gmail.com. Sufficient documents about the family’s financial situation and a free-form justification are submitted as an attachment.

4.8 In addition to bank payments, sports vouchers, cards and mobile payments are also versatile payment methods: Smartum, ePassi, Edenred, Tyky fitness vouchers and Hyvinvointitarjotin hobby vouchers. Report the aforementioned payment method to opintosihteeri@kajaanidance.fi.

4.9 As a rule, the student himself is responsible for the costs of inspection and competition trips.

5.1 The student is entitled to make up for his absence for two months with dance school classes corresponding to his skill level. Absences known in advance can also be compensated in advance.

5.2 If the absence due to illness lasts more than a month, we can agree on payment changes. The sick leave certificate must be delivered to the office.

5.3 The guardian will be contacted if the student has accumulated more than three consecutive unexplained absences.

Vacation days included in the academic year do not entitle to payment credits, but the student can make up these hours according to the same rules as absences. A list of the dance school’s holidays is published on the website.

The student undertakes to keep the information in the student register up to date and to notify the dance school office of any changes immediately. We are not responsible for damages caused by incorrect information. If e-mail is selected as the method of sending the invoice, the payer of the invoice undertakes to also check his spam mail during the billing times mentioned below and is responsible for the costs that may arise from payments left in the spam filter.

The dance school’s student register is maintained in compliance with regulations regarding information security. The right to data processing is based on the Act on Basic Art Education (633/1998) and the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (679/2016, Article 6). The basis for data processing is a contract to which the data subject is a party. For students under the age of 18, the contract is concluded by the guardian. The purpose of the student register is to manage the student relationship. Personal data is processed for registration of studies, information, invoicing, registration for events, communication, marketing, reporting and other measures related to dealing with students.

The data content of the register consists of the contact information of the registered person and/or his/her guardian. The data content also includes the student’s social security number, year of birth, student history and student evaluation information, information necessary for teaching and events, student fee information and payment payments, decisions on free student places and participant’s food allergies in relation to events.

8.1 If the teaching cannot be organized for reasons beyond the control of the dance school (force majeure, e.g. damage to the premises, order of the authority, communicable disease, etc.) and the obstacle continues for 15 days or more, the dance school has the right to provide teaching as distance learning. In this case, student fees are charged normally.

8.2 If the above-mentioned obstacle lasts no more than 14 days, the student can replace the missed lessons with other lessons of the dance school.

8.3 Lessons canceled due to illness of the teacher, which are replaced by substitute arrangements or by arranging studies at another time, are not considered an obstacle mentioned above. If replacement lessons cannot be arranged, they will be refunded in student fees.

9.1 The lessons start and end at the times mentioned in the reading order and they include an attendance check.

9.2 All students are insured against accidents occurring during the dance school’s activities (classes and related performances). In order to avoid accidents, the teacher can deny a student who is late from entering the class. The teacher’s responsibility for the students is limited to class time. The student gets accident protection for time outside of dance class by taking out personal leisure insurance.

9.3 The changing rooms are intended for students only. Kajaani Dance is not responsible for items left in the dressing rooms.

9.4 The doors of the dance school premises open 15 minutes before the first lesson of the day. Students must leave the premises within 15 minutes of the end of the last lesson.

9.5 Groups are formed if 10 or more students register for the lesson. If the group is not implemented, the student will be notified immediately and an alternative class will be offered.

9.6 Upon request, the student will receive a certificate of studies free of charge. The delivery time is a maximum of 2 weeks.

Kajaani Dance describes the students’ work. Filming and video recording destinations include, for example, performances, viewings, trips and hourly work. Kajaani Dance has the right to use the image material in marketing, on the website and for educational purposes. The names of the students are not published. In the picture, the student is always presented in a positive light. In your registration, choose a photo ban if you do not want your photo or your child’s photo to be used for this purpose.

11.1 The dance school has the right to make changes to the tuition fees also during the season so that they are announced at least four weeks before the changes take effect. Such changes entitle the student to end his studies when the change comes into effect.

11.2 The dance school reserves the right to temporary and permanent lesson and teacher changes
